Infamous 2 then takes you down to New Marais, heavily inspired by New Orleans. The abandonment of the city also signals how Cole himself will change as a character. Seriously, HOW did a major IP get through so many different offices, QA, Press, etc., and no one said anything, not even the reviewers in the end.I saw that it was mentioned in the OT somewhat, but even then, people weren't making that much noise about it (sorry) and I really feel like this is something that should have.In the beginning of the game, Cole abandons Empire City as the Beast totally destroys the first game’s setting. Forgot about any LFE period if your listen to it through headphones as it just further reinforces how sparce it is. There's oomph can be found throwing sticky grenades which gives off a substantial LFE hit (so hard that actually it's at odds with the rest of the non-existent sound design and sounds sloppy), but even that isn't always consistent because sometimes it just won't go off anyway. The mix is just hot garbageEVERY time I load this is up, it's a struggle to play because it's THAT bad. No ambiance (like you have run all the way to the bayous to hear any), barely any voices, traffic that you don't hear, poor dynamic range, undercranked OST volume, etc. There is just literally no audio filling up HUGE spaces of play. Like, you'll honestly think it's bugged and the audio just dropped out, prompting a reload. It's to the point where it almost entirely sucks the fun out of the experience. The world sounds dead. No seriously, not since Viking: Battle for Asgard have I found sound design to be so jarringly non-existent/poorly done. So, WHAT THE FUCK is with the sound design in this game? Love New Orleans and I'm from the south, so the setting here is both novel and awesome

Combat way better, the performance more stable, and even Zeke does a complete 180 and becomes quite a charming character, even more so in Festival of Blood.

Like many others have said, this one pretty much improves on the original in EVERY single damn way. While I found myself enjoying it a little more this time around, the tedium (even when playing in short bursts) almost immediately settled in again and so I put it away for good. It was just too long with mostly douche characters (IE: Zeke) and a story that only got interesting at the very end. That being said, I rebought it recently for $10 and played it for a few hours just for fun. Yup, getting myself up to speed for the release of Second Son.Prior, I finished inFamous 1 years back and was indifferent to it.
